Writing, Editing, Collaborating

I write articles, book reviews, stories and podcasts. I edit historical novels, academic papers, books, magazines and articles. I choose work based on what feels worthwhile and a good fit. I do structural and developmental editing and also copy editing. I love to collaborate.

My specialist areas are natural history, foraging, ecology and climate, education and fiction.

What People Say About My Editorial Work

“Incredibly helpful”

“You’re doing an absolutely great job here. Incredibly helpful … It’s really a delight for me too to pull back the curtain and let another actor in backstage … It’s great to have other eyes, sharp eyes they are too, on this MS. Thank you for the encouragement.”

“Made me really think”

“Phew, that was amazing! I’ve never been edited before 🙂 Made me really think about things. Anyway, loved the process, and thanks so much for doing all the work … I would love it if you would like to edit my next volume.”

“Absolutely delighted”

“This is amazing! I haven’t worked with an editor like this before … this has very, very much lifted my spirits … my colleague and I were absolutely delighted with your edits … It is so reassuring to have someone so skilled on the case.”
